What the AI Does
When you create a plan in SplitMitra, you can describe it in plain words and the AI drafts a day-by-day itinerary. For a trip, that means timed stops for transport, stays, activities, meals and rest, with a budget estimate. You can preview the draft inside the new-plan form before saving it.
The draft is a starting point, not a booking. Nothing is reserved or paid for you; the group edits the plan until it fits.
The category you pick shapes the draft. A Travel plan gets a trip schedule; a celebration gets an event timeline; an offsite gets an agenda. This guide focuses on trips.
02
Write a Good Description
The more the AI knows, the better the first draft. A useful description covers:
- Where and how long: “Four days in Manali” or “a weekend in Pondicherry”.
- Who’s going: “six friends in their twenties” or “a family with two kids and grandparents”.
- What you like: treks, cafes, temples, beaches, nightlife, slow mornings.
- How you’re travelling: your own car, flights, trains, scooters.
- Budget level: shoestring, comfortable or splurge.
- Fixed points: an arrival time, a booked hotel, a day you must be back.
For example: “Four days in North Goa for six friends, flying in on Friday morning, scooters, beaches and cafes, one evening in Panjim, mid-range budget.” The day count you choose is always respected: ask for four days and you get exactly four.
03
What a Draft Includes
For trips, the AI follows a realistic daily rhythm: travel and check-in, afternoon activities, evening meals and rest. It allows for things that matter in India, like buffer time for traffic, usual lunch and dinner timings, and rest after long drives. It also adds a budget breakdown by category: transport, stay, food and activities.
Every stop drops a pin on the map, with routes between stops, so the group can see whether a day is realistic before committing to it.
04
Edit It Together
Once the plan is saved, the itinerary belongs to the group:
- Edit any stop inline, or delete what doesn’t fit.
- Reorder stops when a day makes more sense the other way round.
- Tick off tasks as the group works through each day.
Changes show up for every member in real time, so the plan stays the single version everyone looks at.
05
Keep the Money in the Same Plan
The itinerary lives next to the expenses. As the trip happens, whoever pays logs the cost, and at the end the group settles in the fewest UPI transfers. The Goa trip guide walks through the money side.

Limits and Credits
AI drafts use your monthly AI allowance, which depends on your tier; credit packs add more. Splitting and settlement never need AI and work on every tier. See Pricing for the current allowances, and How It Works for the full flow from sign-up to settled up.
